Plants generally remain immobile over the course of their lives but every plants used to be an adventurer in their babyhood. Fruits and Seeds, the protective shells of baby plant are also the vehicles for them to travel over the world. Every fruits and seeds have their own strategies to move and in this workshop, we will try to explore these possibilities and understand these secret conquerors of the Earth.

To examine the structure of seeds and the diverse dispersal strategies that plants have developed.
Learning Outcomes
Be able to describe different seed dispersal strategies of plants and explain the reasoning behind these.
Gain fundamental knowledge regarding the structure of some seeds and fruits
Learning Content & Activities
Learn the concept of fruits and seeds, discover the dispersal strategies of plants and examine real specimen of fruits and seeds.
Explore the local area and collect fruits and seeds, examine their features and try to determine their strategy for dispersal.
Work in teams to find ways to enhance the dispersal of a certain local seed or fruit that has been discovered.
