Smart Cities & Village

Programmes Details

C2021_04.01

Pak Lap - STREAM Teaching Facility Centre

KS3, KS4

What our future cities look like, depends on the design and build from future architects, engineers and designers. Connected by information and data, 3D digital twin provides simulation for analytics and prediction. Participants of the program will go through a classroom based theory lesson and then a practical activity involving surveying and data collection of Pak Lap , eventually leading to a 3D reconstruction of objects and buildings in the local area.

Programmes Objective

To learn how to create 3D reconstruction of living organisms, objects and buildings. Put this into practice by surveying the local area of Pak Lap to collect data and use these to make a 3D reconstruction.

Learning Outcomes

Be able to make objective-driven 3D objects from 3D modelling & scanning

Be able to discuss the wider applications of 3D technology

Learning Content & Activities

Introduce and discuss the wider applications of 3D technology in Smart City and Village.
Discover and take photos of different objects and buildings in Pak Lap for 3D reconstruction.
Learn how to use modelling tools to create a 3D model.
Learn how to render and export the 3D model as useable format.
