Most butterfly species have a short adult lifespan, lasting around 2 weeks. Exploring their diverse behaviour during different stages of the life is vital in identifying patterns that can be used to distinguish between species.

To observe and investigate the behaviour of butterflies in their natural environment and explore the different factors that may affect these

Learning Outcomes

Be able to identify patterns in butterfly behaviour and adaptations and begin to classify them accordingly

Identify the connection between resources, environmental conditions and butterfly behaviour

Learning Content & Activities

discover the diverse behaviours that butterflies have while hiking through a designated route

Each team will have to act out the different behaviour patterns and adaptations of butterflies, they will be given materials to use to make props such as butterfly wings, antennae etc.
Learn to differentiate between the behaviour of butterflies and find the patterns, relate to the environment
